Stella, her son, and her father are an interesting family.  They are a tight knit trio all living in the shadow of her deceased mother.  Stella has lots of pent up anger about her mother leaving her and her father.  Yet after her mothers passing they moved there to runn the B&B. 

Maddie Smith has just lost her job as a dj when she learns her sister Enid has skipped town, so ever the responsible sister she heads to Nebraska to pack up her sister's things.  Once there she finds her sister's diary and reads about Eddie Berlin who it seems her sister had gone to as a call girl (yup)

Cleo Tyler is a reluctant psychic trying to put her life back together after the car crash she was in at age 20 that killed her live-in boyfriend and caused her miscarriage and subsequent inability to have kids.  She had a vision that lead the police in California to find this kidnapped little girl and now the small town in Mississippi has hired her to find the master key to their public buildings
