A Soldier’s Family by Cheryl Wyatt (Love Inspired)

challenge_name:

I read A Soldier's Family hoping to like it better than A Soldier's Promise, but sadly that was not the case. The thing is I can see why so many readers love the author's books. She is a competent writer and has some nice stories to tell, but they are just not to my taste.

85. Rogenna Brewer ~ The Marine's Baby ~ HSR #1478 ~ March 2008 [9 Months Later]

challenge_name:

I first got this story because of a couple of comments that Deb (debkc3) made regarding the author and how much she enjoyed her writing.  Okay, so I was already somewhat hooked... then after reading a couple of reviews I knew that this was a story that I really wanted... so I got it!  It was everything ~ and more ~ than I had expected or hoped.  Fantastic story by a fabulous author.  This will be on my list of top books for 2008!

RATING:
Excellence: Excellent to OUTSTANDING ~ 4.5 stars
Steaminess: Sensual

69. Cheryl Wyatt ~ A Soldier's Family ~ Steeple Hill Love Inspired [Mar 08]

challenge_name:

The more I read of this new series by Cheryl Wyatt ~ Wings of Refuge ~ the more I find that this will definitely be a keeper series.  The strength of the faith that the characters display ~ and continue to deepen and learn to depend more upon ~ is, while very different from what I usually read, refreshing and uplifting.   The characters are realistic people, going through real-life difficulties; the connection that I feel with any of them is very strong.  I am enjoying these stories a lot more than I had initially expected to.

RATING:
Excellence: Excellent ~ 4 stars
Steaminess: Friends
