Damon Alexakis had looks, wealth, power. What he didn't have was a suitable wife....

Kate McKee was the perfect choice. Beautiful, intelligent, she was the adored nanny of his sister's twins; and she was stunned by Damon's proposal! But what choice did she have? To fend off her father's matchmaking efforts, she'd invented a mystery lover—hut would her pretense backfire? The only solution was to accept Damon's extraordinary deal: for one year only, she'd share his life, but not his bed—at least, that was Kate's interpretation. Damon had other ideas!

Favourite Scene: (Damon is sexually frustrated and tired because he can't get any sleep while he's not able to touch his wife according to their agreement.  He's adorable when he's pleased that she suggests they share the bed, he thinks finally.... but NO!  LOL)

  "Nap?" Damon sounded outraged.
"Isn't that what you said you wanted?"
"Yes, but -" He stopped, as if he'd been going to say something more, then thought better of it.
"It's not a bad idea, actually," Kate said, warming to it.  "We can share the bed."
He made a pleased sound, "Ah."
"I'll take it at night and you can have it during the day."
"WHAT?" He stumbled over a rooat and crashed into her.

My Review:

Mmm!  I just grinned during this one.  Nice emotions.  I liked the hero and heroine both.  The heroine was a bit overly moralizing and agressive about telling the hero how he should be parenting, but she had innocent intentions.  I thought it was cute and funny that the heroine kept tripping over her own feet aroudn the hero.  And I loved when he mocked her and said that if she fell to her unfortunate demise they would have a real body buried in the basement, which should please the scandalmongers.  The hero was sweet around his son.  I liked that the hero wasn't the womanizer the public thought him to be (at least not anymore, not since his marriage and son's birth).  Great slow burning sexual tension between the hero/heroine.  I loved how at the end he came after her, saying he wanted her back as his son's nanny, then saying that his brother-in-law came up with an idea to keep her around as a librarian, before finally confessing he was looking for any excuse to tie her to him so that she was around because he needed her himself.  Awww!  Random rant about the cover: The hero and heroine had the same gold/blonde hair and it looked almost gold/green, kind of ugly.

My Rating: 4/5 stars, a lovely warm story, great emotions.  NFM

Romancing the Nanny by Cindy Kirk (Special Edition #1818)

challenge_name:

I bought this book, because I enjoyed Cindy Kirk's The Tycoon's Son. And I liked the idea of a widowed father falling in love with his daughter's nanny. Sadly, I didn't like the heroine at all and the hero is not that likable either. She is too biddable for most of the book (she does stand up for herself in the end) and he is too calculating (until he realizes that he loves her).
