The Shadow and the Star
A historical romance with a scarred hero with a deeply troubled past, and a heroine with a troubled present. A lovely story.
Just One of the Guys
Another good read from Kristan Higgans. Chastity is the younger sister of four brothers and has always been 'one of the guys'. But what she's wanting these days is what her brothers have - marriage and children. Mr Clearly Right (a handsome trauma surgeon) enters her life but then there's also the man she really wants (the guy who's almost another brother who she's loved since she was 10).
Angels Fall
You can't go wrong with a Nora Roberts book. In Angels Fall, Reece Gilmour is a heroine trying to reclaim her life after a traumatic past event. As the sole witness to a murder in the town she's trying to settle in she turns to Brody, the only person who truly believes her story.
The Warrior's Touch
This was a wonderful story with great characters and constant twists and turns in the plot that kept me turning the pages.
Aileen O'Duinne is a healer banned from healing, but when she finds Connor MacEgan a warrior whose broken hands will stop him from living the only life he knows she has no choice but to help him.
Catch of the Day
I've just finished reading this book, and it was wonderful. Set in Maine it had a funny, endearing heroine, a strong, silent (really silent) hero, and a great plot. I can't wait to get my hands on her earlier and next books.
Sweet Talk, by Susan Mallery
Just One of the Guys, by Kristan Higgins
Sea Witch
The story of police chief Caleb Hunter and the mysterious Magred, a woman he encounters late one night on the beach.
I've always enjoyed Virgina Kantra's books, and this one, although the first of hers that I've read with paranormal aspects, I enjoyed just as much as all the others.
Caitlyn's Cowboy by Barbara McMahon
I enjoyed this story of a city girl who inherits a ranch and out of desperation moves to Wyoming with her deaf brother. The hero, Zack, doesn't see himself as long-term material...but of course he discovers the error of his ways!
Abby
Eat, Pray, Love
A non fiction book about a woman who takes a year to travel and 'find' herself after a painful divorce. Set in three countries; Italy, where she eats wonderful food, India where she lives on an ashram and does lots of meditating, and Indonesia where she falls in love again. This was an interesting and thought provoking read. I enjoyed it.
