Looking Backward and Building for the Future in THE CALLING Vampire Novels

There are lots of things I love about writing vampires, but one of the most interesting things is the ability to look backward into their past lives so that I can build their lives in the future. All those years of past life experience have really helped to create some very memorable characters for me.

Bk #99--Sarah just became a vampire and her sire was killed by vampire hunters who are now after her. Suicidal vampire elder Thierry de Bennicoeur unwillingly comes to her aid and agrees to help her navigate her new vampire life as long as she agrees to follow his rules. Interesting & entertaining story. I plan to look for the other titles in the series. NFM

The Latest Anita Blake
#17 in the series. A bit slower paced than some of the previous installlments. Anita's got more junk to wade through than normal as she breaks Vegas Metro into her brand of investigating, and they've got more magic to smack her around with than St Louis PD. The culmination of Marmee Noir and Vittorio's storylines end here, I'm not sure how I feel about those.

Kiss of Darkness by Heather Graham
First, let me say that I love Heather Graham's paranormal novels. However, this one wasn't my favorite. I liked the overall story and I wanted to finish to find out what was going on. But I was very confused for the first half of the book. Not the type of confused where you read to find out the answer at the end.

204. Circle of Desire by Keri Arthur ... Amazing... and terrifying
4.5 hearts ~ This is the third, and final, book in Keri Arthur's Damask Circle series. The story has elements that are even darker and more evil than either of the first two books... and that's saying something.
I love the werewolf element ~ there's my love of wolves coming out again ~ and that both the H and h are shifters, albeit different species.
