Paranormal Vampire Romance

Fanged & Fabulous by Michelle Rowen

challenge_name:

Generally speaking, I'm over vampires and have been for a while.  But a friend introduced me to Michelle Rowen, and her vamps are--mostly--just like regular people.  This is the second book in the series, and the adventure and romantic tension are amped up from the first book.  The characters are fun, the story a wild ride.  I'm looking forward to reading the next one!

book cover"Immortal Darkyn lord Valentin Jaus lost one woman after accidentally infecting her with his vampiric blood.  Consumed by guilt, he fears he will bring only pain to anyone who dares love him.

Landscaper Liling Harper touches the lives of the infirm with daily deliveries of fresh flowers and an aura that soothes their pain.  But her good deeds have made her vulnerable to an insidious organization desperate to reclaim her.

Brought together by fate, bound together by passion, Valentin and Liling find solace in each other's arms.  But the ties that bind them are deeper - and more dangerous - than either of them can possibly imagine."

#140 – Evermore by Lynn Viehl (Signet, 2008)

challenge_name:

book cover"They are the only scars that mar Jayr's milky skin.  Scars left by her Darkyn master, Byrne, when she gave her human life to save his.  Made immortal, Jayr has served as Byrne's faithful seneschal - and secretly loved him - for centuries.

Every full moon, Jayr and Byrne renew their oath of loyalty by sharing each other's blood.  Although the erotic ritual has become the only intimacy and pleasure they know, the price of immortality demands that they never be more than master and seneschal.

Unbeknownst to Jayr, Byrne decides to leave the Kyn and retreat to a life of isolation.  And the sole purpose of the tournament he's holding is to find a new master for Jayr.  As the Kyn fight for Byrne's realm, hidden passions and ancient grudges flare to life, threatening not only Byrne's sanity but Jayr's very existence...."

#138 – Night’s Kiss by Amanda Ashley (Zebra, 2005, re-issue 2008)

book cover"The Dark Gift has brought Roshan DeLongpre a lifetime of bitter loneliness-until, by chance, he comes across a picture of Brenna Flanagan. There is something hauntingly familiar in Brenna's fiery red hair and sensual body, something that compels him to travel into the past, save the beautiful witch from the stake, and bring her safely to his own time. Now, in the modern world, Brenna's seductive innocence and sense of wonder are utterly bewitching the once-weary vampire, blinding him to a growing danger. For there is one whose dark magick is strong...one who knows who they both are and won't stop till their powers are his...and they are nothing more than shadows through time..."

Well, if you read my previous review of Desire After Dark, you'll know why I didn't like this one either - they were still grunting, softly!

I have sooo many authors I love to read.  I get ideas for my own paranormal romance, then, wham, I feel sooo inadequate.

But that's not going to let me down. I have talent and I will use it to get my novel published!Kiss

It was an okay read, not as exciting as some of the others in the series. I will wait to see what she brings to the table the next time.  All I was really glad about was seeing the updates on the various characters in the book.
