Desiring God

You wouldn't know it by the reviews I've submitted, but I am a huge Christian personal growth book junky. I buy them by the boatload, and when Mardel has a sale, look out! I've been to a couple of them where I've bought somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty books (Yep, that's right. Sick, I tell you, sick.) for about $30. They have REALLY good sales.

His Wedding-Night Wager by Katherine Garbera (SD 1708)

Back Cover:

After ten years Shelby Paxton had returned to Vegas. But unlike the last time--when she was paid one million dollars to jilt casino owner Hayden MacKenzie at the altar--she was now being blackmailed into giving him closure. Shelby would do anything to keep her secrets hidden…but she hadn’t planned on falling for her first love a second time.

For Hayden, Las Vegas was his only mistress. He didn’t believe in happily-ever-after, not anymore. But he did want something from Shelby—the wedding night he lost.

Spoiler Warning: All my reviews contain spoilers to some degree.

Favourite Scene: (I love how he just "nods")

"What do you want from me, Hayden?" she asked when she realized he was staring down at her.

"The wedding night we never had."

"Sex?"

He nodded.

The Inward Storm by Penny Jordan (HP 713)

Back Cover:

Their marriage had gone up in flames.

Jake Harvey was every woman's secret type. During their brief and volatile union, Kate had been wildly jealous, dangerously insecure, and he'd never reassured her with words of love - only of desire.

Kate went up like dry tinder every time Jake touched her, and she resented that power over her almost as much as she abhorred his career. Finally he threw her out, saying, "Come back when you've grown up."

But Jake had come to her instead. And Kate's fuse was as short as ever when it came to him, his work and the latest woman clinging to his arm.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this one.  Great chemistry between the H/h.  They separated because they disagreed on nuclear weapons/power (which was kind of an irrelevant issue for me personally) and the heroine was a little young (and the hero treated her like a child who had unimportant views).  They were apart for two years, the hero wouldn't let her divorce him, and then he had enough of the wait for her to grow up and come back and he went after her himself!
