Angel's Tip by Alafair Burke (Detective Mystery)
An intriguing voice in police procedural thriller
STRANGERS IN DEATH by JD Robb
COPIED BLURB: Technology may be different in 2060 New York, yet the city is still a place of many cultures and great divides. But as ever, some murders receive more attention than others-especially those in which the victim is a prominent businessman, found in his Park Avenue apartment, tied to the bed-and strangled- with cords of black velvet.
No One Left to Tell
Detective Raven MacKenzie and her partner are trying to solve the gruesome murder of a man left in a chapel with a message pinned to him. Clues lead them to Christian Delacorte, the head of security for Fiona Dunhill, a woman crime boss. If they want Fiona Dunhill's cooperation they have to work with Christian Delacorte, and Christian's background is shrouded in mystery.
Random Victim by Michael A. Black (Suspense: Police Procedural)
Thrilling Chicago police procedural. Cold Case, local politics, a flawed policeman and a street-new fun bodybuilder policewoman.
Strangers in Death by JD Robb
Strangers is the newest JD Robb/Eve Dallas Mystery. In this story, Thomas Anders is found dead in a way that seems to scream accidental death, but is quickly found to be a homicide. However, the two people that have the most to gain have solid alibis and the vic seems to be a genuinely good guy. Who did it and why.
Echo Park
There are many Harry Bosh police procedurals, but this is the first one I'm reading and author Michael Connolley did not disappoint me. Detective Bosh (of Open Cold Cases) is a complex hero, mostly good, but also able to twist the rules if he thinks the system is favoring the bad guy.
The Missing (Atria Books 2007)
Characters - Darby McCormick was a teenager wishing for an interesting life when she witnessed a murder and survived an attempt on her life. After 24 years, she is a crime-scene investigator for Boston PD and it looks like things have come full circle.
