Pregnancy

Today Nathaniel is two weeks old and it is my 42nd birthday. Right now I don't feel like I need anything else for celebration. I am attempting to post pictures to show off my wonderful little Gift from God (and my DH as well *heh). Hopefully they will upload properly.

Our baby boy has finally arrived and "Guppy" has an official name. *drum roll...*

Nathaniel Thomas Harkness arrived via C-section at 3:36 AM on October 15th, 2009.

He weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces (3855.5 grams for all the metric folks)

He measured 20 and 1/2 inches ( 52.1 cm) long.

Well folks, the impending arrival of baby "Guppy" is set. As a "mature" mother with the added bonus of Gestational Diabetes, standard procedure at the Medical Center is to induce labor during week 39. So, today the doctors scheduled me to be induced next Wednesday, October 14th. Of course, that's only if the little guy doesn't decide to schedule his own arrival earlier.

Tomorrow (saturday) is the baby shower my sister is putting on for me. She and my birth mom arrived last night (thursday) and it was fun to see them again. Both are very exicited to be doing this for me and i'm excited because i don't have to do anything except show up. This is easy since we're having the shower at our house.

Well, I had a little orientation class at the Med Center  today where I got my blood sugar monitor and info stuff for controlling my blood sugar to minimize bad stuff for little Guppy. I feel pretty good about what I need to do.

Here's the picture I drew for the Baby Shower Invites my sister will be sending out. Just wanted to share. I'm so glad I can make pictures so I can have exactly what I want on my invites.

 since hubby and i are scuba divers, i've a feeling our little guy is destined to be a diver too. hence the mask and fins in the ultrasound. *heh*
