Limitations by Scott Turow (Harper Collins 2006)
Hard to Get by Carole Mortimer (HP 724)
Back Cover:
He seemed completely immune to her
Rich girl Lara Schoffield had never met a man she couldn't instantly captivate, and in fact she'd made a hobby of collecting hearts and breaking them while she remained personally uninvolved.
Until she encountered Jordan Sinclair. He was devastating, everything a woman could ask for. And he was utterly indifferent to Lara.
But what Lara wanted, Lara got, and she was determined to have Jordan Sinclair. Even if it meant playing with the potent fire of his passion, and playing with Jordan was very dangerous indeed...

Favourite Scene: (I like how he makes sure ALL of the competition is out of the way)
'Is Wentworth out of the picture now?'
'I don't see that—'
'Is he?' Jordan bit out in a rasping voice.
Her rebellion died a swift death as she recognised a will far stronger than her own. 'I hope so,' she admitted tightly.
'And Basil?'
'Was never in it,’ she scorned.
'Gary?’
'Not him, either. Look, Mr Sinclair—'

My Review:
The heroine's father was ill, so to get the money for treatment, she agrees to marry the hero, who wants a wife, heir, and the respectability that comes from being a family man. The heroine is 19, at least 15 years younger than him, which is too big an age gap in my opinion.

An Italian Engagement by Catherine George (Modern)
My Review:
The heroine's car breaks down outside the hero's home. She was on her way to meet with (by coincidence) his brother. The hero takes interest in her and immediately sticks to her like glue, instead of a grand passion, they seem like friendly travelling companions. He shows her a bit of the city, then he declares he has good intentions with her, slowly takes things at her pace, tells her he loves her and wants to marry her, tells her the sex can wait. (She had a bad experience with sex and gets in a panic at intimacy) Hmmm. This book was kind of boring for me personally. It wasn't very passionate, it had a hero who restrained his impulse to jump the heroine. The book relied for the most part on dialogue, with little sensual description of the feelings the hero/heroine experienced. There was a sexual assault plot, which is an ick factor and wasn't too pleasant. I felt a little woozy mentally reading this book, because I'm incredibly stuffed up with allergies at the moment, so maybe that contributed to me just not getting into it.
Rating: 2/5 stars, couldn't get into it. NFM

Back Cover:
Duty demanded Max DeLuca take care of pretty and very pregnant Lilli McCall. She was carrying his late brother's baby, and every DeLuca instinct cried out for Max to protect her unborn child. But the cost of bringing Lilli under his roof was Max's carefully controlled emotions. Never had the billionaire experienced such searing passion and such a desire to cherish a woman.
Then Max detected a secret Lilli seemed determined to keep hidden. Would the truth bring him to his knees…or send him running for the door?
Favourite Scene: (he sounds like he's 12 saying "you think I'm hot" but the honesty is great)
He waved his hand. “We may as well get this on the table. I know you’re attracted to me,” he said without a millimeter of arrogance.
She opened her mouth to deny it, but her throat closed around the lie.
“I’m flattered that you think I’m hot,” he said. “But it’s probably a good idea that you also think I’m cold because, for some reason, I find you attractive.”
Lilli gaped at him, sure he was mocking her. “No.”
“Yes,” he said.
“But I’m pregnant,” she blurted out. “And not with your baby.”
Dirty by Megan Hart
I really was not expecting this book to be what it was. There were a lot of erotic scenes between Dan and Elle which were great, but I really got into the story. Elle was very standoffish with Dan was obviously only using him for sex. The reasons she closes herself off from others is serious. There are really deep hurts and secrets. Elle also has cut herself off from almost everyone else
