I really enjoyed this book. It was about the long process of forgiving oneself and finding romance along the way. I would strongly recommend this book for anyone who likes clean, honest romace..
His Small-Town Girl
by Arlene James
A wonderful description of a single mother cutting the apron strings! I found the truth in this book to be incredibly refreshing. I have never been a single parent, nor have I been left at the altar, but Aimee and Jacob's story was so contemporary that it felt like Irene took dictation from Aimee and Jacob themselves.
Awesome book! I loved the rawness of the characters, the depth of reality in the time period, and the love story that was so intricately wove into the mix that it was just a piece of the story.
I've not heard of this author before, but I will definately be looking from now on!!!
Do you ever feel as though you've put God in a box? Tired of praying without seeming to get any results? This book is for you. If you want a deeper relationship with the One who started it all, take a chance and pick up this book. Each chapter comes with a small questionnaire at the end, so you can quiz yourself. Warning: it may challenge you to stretch and grow...
This is a great modern translation of the Tanakh and the Brit Hadashah (AKA the New Testament), giving the Bible what so many modern English translations had taken away: its essential Jewishness. There's a glossary in the back for people who are unaccustomed to reading Biblical names in their Hebrew transliterations (e.g., Moses = Moshe, Jesse = Yishai, etc.). Highly recommended to anyone who would like a newer translation without any "thees" and "thous." Also interesting for anyone who has never read the Bible, either because it looked too hard or being from another religion.
The second in the His Dark Materials trilogy follows the continuing adventures of Lyra as she seeks out her father in an alternate dimesion. Stumbling upon a boy named Will from a dimesion much like ours, the pair face unimaginable dangers and impossible odds as they try to find their way home and bring harmony to all the worlds.
