SciFi
Marque and Resprisal
Not bad. Better than the first book in the Vatta's War series. I'll be looking forward to the third.
Winter Duty
The continuing adventures of David Valentine in a post-apocolyptic Earth. Not as much action as previous book, nor much overall story arc movement. Certainly not as good as the first few in the series.

Idlewild by Nick Sagan (G. P. Putnam's Sons, 2003)
A post-apocalyptic novel. It took me a while to get into this one, and then just about the time I was really starting to enjoy it, it ended…and I really didn’t like the way it ended. The science/ideas behind the novel were pretty interesting, however, so if you like sci-fi, this one’s probably worth your effort.
Dead Until Dark
I loved this book. I really don't get vampires--blood--ick. But I fell in love with the community and the possibilities of the plot, and ohmygosh, the hero. I enjoyed the heroine's lack of pretensions and her growth as a character.

Copied Back Blurb
The galaxy is on the brink of disaster, the long-awaited truce torn apart by an unprovoked attack. The colony whose residents represented more than a hundred planets has been destroyed, and the new vision for unity in the universe is at risk. Faced with a war that would mean destruction and chaos, one man has stepped forward to lead those fighting for their lives. Undeterred by insurmountable odds, his courage inspires a team-the Morcai Battalion-to battle for the cause of peace...and love.
Marsbound by Joe Haldeman (Berkley, 2008)
The plot of this one sounds eerily familiar to me: humankind makes it to Mars and finds that (gasp!) we’re not alone.
Time Enough For Love
Most scifi by Heinlein starring the immortal Lazarus Long. This book details many of the events of his life.
