150. Janice Kay Johnson ~ The Daughter Merger ~ HSR #944 (Oct '01)

challenge_name:

Another excellent story by Janice Kay Johnson; I can truly state that I've not read one book by her so far that has not been, at the least Very Good... and usually they're Excellent or higher.
Being a single parent has got to be one of the most difficult things to do ~ even in a two parent home, sometimes, you wonder if you're going to survive your child's teen years.  But for a man who's never really known love or had someone that can show him the way, a teenaged daughter has to be a challenge beyond belief.  JKJ displays her mastery of wonderfully evocative emotional storytelling once again... and not just for David, but also for Grace and the girls, Claire and Linnet.
Yes her stories are very emotion- based, but character is a major ingredient as well and regardless of the focus, the stories are always first-rate.

RATING:
Excellence: Excellent ~ 4.0 stars
Steaminess: Sensual

This is a new series by JD.  It is about a small California community and its residents.  This book focuses on Diane, a widow and Josh, her new neighbor.  Josh served on the jury for her husband’s killer, he was the lone stand-out on the man’s innocence, thus allowing him to go free.  Can Diane move beyond this and open herself to a new man, and can Josh open his own emotions to accept a woman and a community?
