This latest entry into the Charlie Moon/Daisy Perika mysteries reminded me a little of a very grisly Winnie the Pooh.  The story was so gripping that I had trouble putting it down.  I'd think it would help if you'd read earlier entries into the series.  (I have.)  James D. Doss is a gifted writer.  If you're looking for a mystery that isn't just like anything else you might be reading, look no further. 

One of the richest mythologies and most poignant fantasy books written in this century, the first book in Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy is a fantastic journey into an alternate universe where spunky Lyra Belacque travels to the ends of the earth to rescue her friend.

     I had been looking for this book for a number of months; ever since I read a review of it last year. Ho boy… this was one very scarce book, but when I did manage to snag a copy I was thrilled. The story was excellent… and more and more I, along with many of the other bloggers here, mourn the loss of the Bombshell line. So while I have read other Bombshell books, Stephanie Doyle is a new-to-me author… another plus for this month’s challenge!
