Quiet Canadians ~ Christa's September Summary

I'm still behind last year at this time last year by 10 but I did close the gap by 1 from my total compared to last year., but I don't have 10 months only 3. Hmm it's got to be all those recommendations that start me browsing. But my "other" (publishers) number it way up with the reading of ebooks.

Comments:

Another disappointing month. I never even made it to 10. I started off great and had hopes of reaching between 12 and 15 books to catch up but this did not come to be. When I started with eHarlequin, it was the 100 book challenge. In my heart, I have to reach 100 books and it’s just not looking good this year. I’m currently reading a book that’s a little longer so even October will not likely be my catching up month. Who knows? Maybe a slow start will motivate me to pick up speed during the month.

Quiet Canadians ~ KatherineT's September Summary

September is always a very busy month on the Farm.  We're smack in the middle of harvest.  Wet season this year has been mixed blessings.  We have two months to go and some nice dry and sunny weather would be ideal.

Though I've been really busy, I did manage to do better with my reading.  I managed to make two digits!  LOL   My twelve read should actually be fifteen, but I'm in a bit of a writer's block and I have not typed up the reviews yet.  And because I haven't typed the reviews, my reading has slowed down again.   ... grrr

My September reading list is quite the mix!  The Harlequin imprints read were in print format, with the balance of the books read being eBooks.  I doubt I would have been able to achieve my total had it not been for the eBooks; they are easier to read into the night and I'm finding they are much quicker to read as well.  I've been wondering why they seem quicker, and the only thing I can come up with is that for print, perhaps I need reading glasses.  :(

Quiet Canadians ~ KatherineT's August Summary

Argh .... it was a single digit month!   Surprised   .... I know I've been busy, but there were times I could have been reading but was just so uninspired  ... so it's official .... I'm in a reading slump  ... argh

Ebooks are working out okay for me ... I seem to read them quicker .. and they're convenient for reading early in the morning (I'm up at 4 for no good reason except to use the facilities, then can't sleep)  .... I just need to get some more Harlequins in ebook, most of my ebooks TBR are erotica

Audios are great for when I'm doing manual type tasks, like gardening or painting ... sadly haven't had time to do those fun things lately (and that work is piling up majorly) ..... listening to me is still a very new thing, so I'm finding it hard to retain what I'm hearing .... I guess this is a brain multi-task that I need to gain experience with so it comes naturally

so .... I need some INSPIRATION to pull me out of my slump ... help!

Quiet Canadians ~ KatherineT's July Summary

Wow, another very poor reading month for me.   As we are very busy now (last week was the beginning of our 14 week harvest), I had hoped that I'd have great success with audio books.  I'm rather disappointed on that front.  Perhaps it was the book, the second in the In Death series by J. D. Robb.  I've found myself very easily distracted and having to go back to relisten to get even the basics of the plot.  Maybe there's just too much going on in this one, too many characters to keep track of.   Ebooks on the other hand have been wonderful.  I can read them late at night when I can't sleep without turning on the lights to wake up dh.  But over all I've been in a reading slump.  I need some sort of challenge to inspire me.  Any ideas?
