Victorian England

Vanquished by Hope Tarr (Medallion Press)

challenge_name:

This is the first novel I have read by this new to me author. I actually purchased this book before I realized Tarr wrote for the Blaze line. This book is a longer novel and is a refreshingly non-formulaic historical  romance. It is a unique story and has a believable ending.

And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander (William Morrow)

challenge_name:

This is the first novel in the 'Lady Emily Ashton' series by Tasha Alexander and her debut novel. It is set in the late Victorian age in England, France, and Santorini. It is advertised on the front cover as a novel of suspense and that is what it is at its core. There are some romantic moments but it is not a romance.

Enchanting The Lady by Kathryne Kennedy (Love Spell)

challenge_name:

From the back: One needed a husband, and the other needed answers. But only together could they find the strongest magic of all: true love. In a world where magic ruled everything, Felicity Seymour couldn't perform even the simplest spell. If she didn't pass her testing, she'd lose her duchy and any hope of marriage. But one man didn't seem to mind her lack of dowry: a darkly delicious baronet who had managed to scare the rest of London's Society misses.
