Rogue
Synopsis: I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I've made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride and myself.
118. Rachel Vincent ~ Rogue ~ MIRA Paranormal ~ April 2008
Holy cow! Talk about a lot left waiting to be worked out... although Rachel Vincent did a marvelous job with the suspenseful ending. All the points that needed to be cleared up, were; yet there is so much to mull over now that I've finished the book. There are so many what's-going-to-happens that I may have to re-read the story just to placate myself while waiting for Pride to come out... this fall if I'm not mistaken.
Faythe Sanders continues to mature, but is still dealing with a sense of losing herself, her dreams... but she's likely to lose a lot more if she continues bewailing her circumstances. She is going to have to do some serious thinking about what is really important because, unfortunately for her, her life is not the way that she wants it; hopefully this is her just her youth speaking. Growing up, maturing, is about making choices ~ no one is ever able to have everything that they want... life isn't like that. You take what you're given and go from there. Dreams are good... but not if you're going to throw away everything else you have.

It's true what they say: "Be careful what you wish for... you just may get it." (and then you're very likely to find that it's not what you wanted.)

Okay, so cats don't always land on their feet
I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I've made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I'm working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on and off duty.
But not all my mistakes are behind me. We're beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women and that they can all be laid at my feet--two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear....
