What is Love? (Baby don't hurt me no more)
For as long as I can remember, it seemed to me that people in a true love relationship were happy people. Indeed, when in my late teens, I observed that something happened to my own friends-male and-female--when they loved someone.
I was raised to believe in love.
I believe in love because what else is there? If not love, then what would fill my heart and colour my life and inform my choices?
I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
The love that's all around me
And so the feeling grows
It's written in the wind
It's everywhere I go...
(Reg Presley: Love is All Around)
I believe in love because of movies that make me cry.
Agape . . . amour . . . amore . . . amor . . . liebe . . . John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son ....
Whether spoken in a language other than your own, written in scripture, or waxed eloquently in poems or romance novels - to live, is to LOVE.
I'll tell you the truth.
Jillyan's post moved us so much, how could we NOT feature it our Blog Bash? Happy Anniversary Jill and Steve!!
I was always the least romantic person I knew. Even as a little girl, I preferred playing war to playing house. As a teenager, I did have one major crush, but I think I was more attracted to the drama of unrequited crushiness than actual love. In fact, there was only one man I ever loved. I was just 20, we met in a bar. Not so remarkable.
