Slaughterhouse-Five or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance With Death by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (1969)
This is a novel everyone should read, both because of its cultural significance and its (so-called) literary worth. I found it confusing and jumbled until I realized that Vonnegut had deliberately written in the style of one from Tralfamadore, no beginning, no end, everything told at once.
HIDEAWAY HOME
Love this addition to the LI Historical line. Wish there were more books with this time period.

Razor Eyes by Richard Hough (Lodestar Dutton)
The Diplomat's Wife -- available now!
Ever since I was a young girl, probably around the age of 11 or 12, I've been fascinated with stories set in and around the Second World War. I remember the first time I picked up Anne Frank's Diary. I was probably about her age, perhaps a bit younger, and to this day, still have the "I can't believe this happened in this century!" feeling.
Suite Francaise
I read Suite Francaise as part of an online book club I am in. And I'll openly admit that this is one of the few books that I changed my mind about halfway through.
The Soldier and the Rose
This was a bittersweet story about a woman who loses her first love, her soul mate, in the second World War.
