Book 2 of the hugely popular Artemis Fowl series. I thoroughly enjoyed it - fast paced, witty and a great read. Artemis has dealings with The People again - this time they think he's behind goblin attacks. But Artemis has his own problems - namely a ransom on his presumed dead father.

Bella has come to the small town of Forks on the gloomy Olympic Peninsula to be with her father. At school, she wonders about a group of five remarkably beautiful teens, who sit together in the cafeteria but never eat.

Decent young adult fantasy. Predictable for readers who've been through the fantasy canon. I wasn't thrilled with the ending because it dragged too much and spent too much time setting up the sequels.

In Island of the Blue Dolphins, a young Native American girl--Karana--is left alone on an island when her people flee their enemies the Aleuts.  The book is the story of Karana's determination to survive until her people send some one to rescue her.  The novel is based on a true story.
