Ok I am new to the site and I have taken the reading challenge. What I'm confused about is the books people are reading, are they all harlequin books? Where can I find them? You read the reviews and say that sounds like a really good book and then I don't know where to find it or anything, so if someone could clarify things for me that would be great.

Misty,
Three good places to start as far as the challenge goes are in the Forums -- in the "Book Challenge" forum to be exact. (To get to the forums, click on "Forums" in the bar above.)
Two of those forums that tend to address the mundane and day-to-day of reviewing: "Intro and Rules" and the "How to Add a Book Review . . .". "The Lobby" is where we socialize (got it's name from the analogy of moving into an apartment building and running into the new neighbors in the lobby).
Just to get a better feel for the community as a whole, the "Cafe Social" forum is where the chatty, talk-about-life things go on.
Back to the challenge. H/S (shorthand for Harl. Ent. even though it's really Harl/Silh that we're putting there) asks that you read at least 50% of their imprints. Remember that not all of their imprints say "Harlequin" or "Silhouette". Lorie made a list somewhere (I'd guess in the "Rules" forum) but a quick and dirty rule of thumb is that if you could buy or could have bought it here at eHQ, it's a H/S imprint.
You should read the "intro and rules" -- it won't take long and we discussed how to handle shorter works (like "minis" or "novellas" or children's books) or books that include more than one full-length book in it (like some of the old "Signature Selects" and all of the old "Harlequin Duets").
KatherineT of the Quiet Canadians did several blog entries on getting around the site and how to do Book Reviews. The fastest way to find her entries probably is to click on the Quiet Canadians in the "Tags" cloud over to the right.
Several of us (maybe a lot of us, I don't know) have been frustrated with some of the book reviews not giving all the info that we personally like. All I can say is, think about what you'd like to see and include it in yours. For example, I like to know right away who the author and publisher are (and which line/release date in the case of series romance), so I include all that in the "Title" field. I of course also complete the "Author" field so the author shows up in the "tags" after I post. I think the system requires it, anyway. Since everyone has the freedom to do their Book Reviews the way that they want, I'm just hoping that as the year goes on people will start taking ideas from other Challengers. In other words, I'm hoping that if other Challengers see what my favorite reviewers include, that they'll start including it, too.
Based on my experience the last two years, you'll learn which bloggers you like to visit and which you like to avoid.
Good luck and welcome!

Hi Misty, When your reading
Hi Misty, When your reading book reviews...if you look below the review to where it says "Tags"...the books publisher and other information should be listed there for you.
Hope that helps.

LOL or yeah, you could do what Kathleen suggests.
Much shorter advice than mine.
You could also post a question in the reviews that you're interested in and ask specific questions about the book.

Not sure what you are asking
Are you wanting to know where to buy the book? ....
if so, if it's a Harlequin / Silhouette imprint and it's release is within the last six months, you might be able to buy it here from the eHarlequin Store or if it's been released within the last year and a bit, it may be available in eBook format from the eBoutique .... some of the Harlequin / Silhouette imprints are available in audio format and you can purchase them for download from Audible.com ... and of course, your local library
if the book is out of print, you'll need to check your local used book stores (UBS) or perhaps purchase from one of the online used book sites, such as www.Biblio.com or www.Abebooks.com or even from www.Amazon.com .... www.eBay.com is another source for books out of print
the book reviews that are posted here in the Book Challenge, are all reviews by individual readers .... so the source of the book can be from a great many different places ..... the books for the Challenge do not have to be "current" releases so those may be the more difficult to locate ... and if the book review does not give a release date, you can always type in the title and author in an Amazon.com search and there you will see when it was released and if it can still be purchased new .... most often if it can be purchased new from Amazon it can be purchased new here at the eHarl Store ....
I'm not sure if this is what you are asking ..... however, Penni is correct ... if you'd like to know more about any of the books that are reviewed, just post a comment with your questions to the reviewer .....
hope this helps!
