56. Christine Rimmer ~ Marrying Molly ~ SSE #1639 (Oct04)

kalyko
Format: Print Books

     I read the book that comes directly after this one first ~ of course! ~ and I loved it.  In Tucker's and Lori's story, I enjoyed Tate and Molly so I was more than a little disappointed when I actually found this story very difficult to make my way through.  Why exactly did I find myself almost slogging page after page?  Check out below in MY NOTES if you're interested.

RATING:
Okay (kinda) ~ 1.5 stars {would not keep this book if it were not part of the Bravo series}
Sensual

BOOK READ:
Christine Rimmer; Marrying Molly; SSE #1639; Oct04
       15th book in the Bravo Family Ties saga

FROM the BACK:
  Mayor Molly O'Dare had sworn she would never end up like her granny or her mother before her; pregnant and unmarried.  Yet here she was expecting Tate Bravo's baby.   The very man who thought her town was his town....
  Now, not only was Tate proposing marriage, he was "demanding" she marry him ~ again...and again...and again.  The secret passion they shared drew them together; his constant proposals were tearing them apart.
  Until, with the help of Molly's meddling mother, Tate had a plan.  So would Molly be an immovable object ~ or would Tate indeed be Marrying Molly before the baby was born?

MY NOTES:
     I enjoyed the first three chapters and the last two chapters... the middle twelve, not so much.
  Too long, too repetitious, too annoying... over and over, around and around Molly went.  She drove me crazy!  I really, really could not give a flip about her.  It's almost as though, for most of the book, she was possessed by some horrible... something.  BLECH!!
     I felt that Ms. Rimmer either ran out of ideas for something with which to build the tension that would keep our H and h apart or that she thought Molly's constant dithering about marrying Tate was amusing.  Gads... I had to put the book down so many times just so I wouldn't throw the blamed thing.  I thought that if I just hung in there, it had to get better soon... but this was definitely a case of later than sooner... and it was about 12 chapters too long.  There were some secondary characters and relationships that were the only reason that I did read the entire book... and if I ever do go through a re-read?  I'm skipping all but the first 3 and the last 2 chapters.
My apologies for this review... but I just... aw heck... was really disappointed.
