Beyond The Dark Anthology Angela Knight, Diane Whiteside, Emma Holly, & Lora Leigh
One of the best anthologies I've read. Angela Knight's was very different and would like to see a longer book in this world. Hers and Lora Leigh's were my favorites, but I really enjoyed Diane Whiteside's with her twist on Bonaparte's invasion. There was a very tender romance also. Emma Holly's story was well done it was just a bit too erotic for my taste. Overall an excellent read.
In Dragon Dance by Angela Knight: Arial is a police officer who is sent to negotiate a hostage situation where a newly turned Hyper has taken his wife and kids hostage. The sheriff calls in a Special agent, Tracker. He is a Hyper who helps subdue Hypers who lose control. As he takes the Hyper down, the madman grabs Ariel's leg and Tracker sees the blue glow that tells him she is now infected. Tracker convinces her that she is in danger and takes her to a friend's safe house to learn control over the powers she's gaining. Another Hyper follows them trying to enslave and gain control to control their powers for her own gain. Great!!
Emma Holly takes us into the world of two warring factions in, "Queen of All She Surveys". Queen Tou leads Kemet, against King Ravna and after defeating him offers a treaty requesting his son as one of her consorts. Memnon is convinced to go for the sake of peace. He finds her to be much more than he expected. The romance is hot and erotic. Good
Lora Leigh takes us into her Breed world with," In A Wolf's Embrace". Matthias is a wolf breed, he has been ordered to assassinate a member of the Directorate. Grace is the manager of the hotel where the assassination takes place. Matthias has seduced her to gain information. She unexpectedly turns up when he shoots Albrecht. He grabs her quickly exiting the hotel and heads out to her family's vacation cabin where they were supposed to meet. He must convince her of why he killed Albrecht and inform her that she is his mate. Matthias has been alone his whole life and to find the woman that completes him is a miracle to the lonely wolf inside. He deals with her doubts as well as the mating heat that consumes both of them. Great story and great romance. Great!!
Diane Whiteside tells us of a mage caught between the traitor who caused his ship to sink and the woman who saved him. Owen Bentham never wanted to be a mage but his life took that turn when a magess used him to power a spell during the last war against Boneparte. Emma Sinclair is a widow whose husband died in the last war against Boneparte. Unknown to her she is a chalice, a mage who can hold unlimited power for another mage. Now the traitor wants both her and her power. He also wants Owen dead so he can't deliver the magical message that will protect England from Boneparte. Very good and a real twist on history.

I thought it was
I thought it was very different even at first with them thinking it was a virus that attacked certain people and then when I found out how it really happened my first thought was she could really take off here into many more exciting stories.

Thanks, and this
Thanks, and this is the best anthology I've read so far this year. I have Shifter to read soon and I've read some really good reviews for it.
