Score: 3.5

This is a story with intertwining relationships and the challenges of family dynamics. Kate is a foot doctor who is in danger of losing her practice, Jo a real estate agent and house flipper who is in over her head with her latest flip.  They have a third sister who was taken away when they were all children by their father when he deserted his family.  Noone ever found out what happened to her and that event has effected the family relationships and their own individual lives since. Jo and Kate return to their summer home: Kate to recouperate from an injury, and Jo to attempt to work a deal to save herself from financial ruin due to the troubles with her latest house flip. There they meet interesting men: Kate encounters Vince, her love from years ago, and Jo a beach front preacher whose livestyle and choices are totally foreign to her.  And then new information pops up about their missing sister.

This was a deeper read than usual category romances due to the complicated dynamics and conflicts between so many of the characters.  It explores family issues such as estranged family members, blending families, the question of what is success.. financial gain or a life of service, etc.  Worth the read if you like reflective books.
