Set in 1817, this story concerns Roslyn Loring, the middle sister of a family of sisters, who declares that she will only marry for love.  She also decides that men love their mistresses, not their wives.  So to understand what mistresses do to ensnare their lovers, she attends the Cyprian Ball with her friend Fanny where she attracts the unwanted attention of the Duke of Arden.  The next day, she oversees her older sister's wedding and encounters the evil duke again.  This time however, she convinces him to teach her the ways to kindle a husband's passion.  Drew was only too happy to oblige for he wants Roslyn for himself.  And so begins a dance of two people with vastly different intentions but who cannot overcome the passion they feel for each other.  When they are discovered in an extremely comprimisng situation, they are forced to marry.  But can that unhappy situation lead to love?

This book is the second book of the trilogy, "The Courtship Wars."  It is as witting and amusing as the rest of her books.  For pure escapist reading, I give the book a B+.Cool
