Just Loved it

This is my first Teresa Carpenter book and I loved it. I like military heroes who are men of honor.  I like it when the hero rescues the heroine and her child only to be emotionally rescued later by her loving care. I like it when the heroine is a worthy person who is at risk because of circumstances beyond her control.

Since “Her Baby, His Proposal”, has everything I like exceedingly well done it is easy to see why I give it my highest rating.

The hero is a Navy Chief with 18 years experience and he is 12 years older than the heroine. The heroine’s love interest was a no good junkie who stole all her money and moved away as soon as he suspected she might be pregnant.

The hero, Brock, takes the heroine to the emergency room when she faints on the job at a local bar frequented by Navy personnel. He admires her and after seeing what a bad situation she finds herself in, decides to let her stay in his condo while he is deployed at sea for six months. Since she will need medical care and support, he marries her so she can get Navy benefits.

The hero spends most of sixteen months at sea only to be seriously injured and returned home where the heroine now is in a position to be a nurse to him while he convalesces.

In a story like this, success depends on how the author develops the changing relationship between the hero and heroine. How does the marriage of convenience change to one of love?  How  well is the change in the relationship from the hero saving the heroine to the heroine saving the hero managed?

In “Her Baby, His Proposal”, these transitions are seamlessly developed. The reading enjoyment level began at a high level on the first page and never let up until the last page. I like the hero. I liked the heroine. And I wouldn’t change anything about this story. Great job.

 Excellent!

Honorable Hero – Loveable Heroine –  Loved the Story!

Thanks,

I don't buy all the HR's

I don't buy all the HR's every month...usually just one or two and it's always so difficult to decide.  This one will be at the top of my list for June.  Especially since I'm eager to see how another Romance tackled a soldier story.
