over the last couple of days, because there was the flower parade on Monday and a meeting for the neighbourhood party last night and of course I'm back at work this week, so if you haven't seen me on the boards much, well there are reasons
I was also hoping to "catch up" to my reading goals in the hope of hitting that elusive four digit number this year, but then I got made member of the month and now I have a dilemma, because am I being a "better" member of the month if I go for my goal of 96 books this month (but given that I'm "only" at 38 thus far that means reading 58 books between now and the 31st
) or am I a "better" member of the month if I don't worry about the numbers and spend more time on the boards encouraging everybody else to read?
I personally can't answer that question (though I know which answer I prefer
)
What d'y'all think?
Either is feasible, both might be a tad difficult

Dilemma ...
I'd say go with what you'd like to do ... when you have a spare moment pop around and do some encouraging too .... but it's your time, spend it the way you want to
you were named Member of the Month for past deeds ... so you can slack off now!
LOL ... go with the flow :D

Imagination... the magical whispers from within.
What are ye seeking?
Surely you don't think anybody's going to thump you for slowing down on your numbers? Heck, we all know what you're capable of (in terms of reading, of course). So, I say 'live it up', Girl! Just keep your books close and handy in the meantime....
I like to read your amusing blogs. And you really are an encouragement for the rest of us to keep reading.

no worries
just do what you feel like doing. Personally I read when I can and visit when I can and try to balance the two out.

Do what you want. If you
Do what you want. If you want to read, read. If you want to blog, blog. If you want to lok around the community and be wih friends, do that.....and above all, feel free to change it any time you want! Some days I get really frantic about all the books I have on my first tier shelf (Read now! shelf) but there are just days when I have to step back. Other days, I just want to be alone and plunge into a 400-500 page book. My biggest long term goal for this Challenge (and any future Challenges
) is to just find a pace that is comfortable for me. I was always the kind of person that had papers and responsibilities done BEFORE deadlines. The main problem is that the more I read, hte more that goal is impossible. The main problem for me is that there are just too many books I love and want to read...and also Harlequin just publishes more books that really interest me than I can possibly read. I think the only good solution is to try to find the proper balance between reading and non-reading and this book and that. I could hole myself up and read and do little else but then I would miss out on the community aspect. I think the ojnly way to be happy for the long haul is to have a fluctuating short haul goal...at least for me.

Tee hee. I know what i would prefer in your position, I'd be selfish and read! LOL. Reading comes first with me. Though if I was making posts, the posts I'd be making around the forum would all be my comments on books other people reviewed (i.e. thanking them for bringing that book to my attention and lifting it to the top of my TBR pile!) ... so for me it all comes back to "what's the next book Janet will read".
