The Stefanos Marriage by Helen Bianchin (HP 1423)
Back Cover:
Aleksi Stefanos was out of her league. And Alyse knew she was mad to contemplate playing games with such a man.
But it was the only way Alyse could secure happiness for little Georg, her dead sister's child. She must fool Aleksi - at least until she had his wedding ring on her finger.
Afterward, she could set the rules for their relationship - and for how long it would continue. There was only one loose end in her plan - she couldn't predict Aleksi's response....
My Review:
Mmm. I liked the premise of this book, and I liked that the hero/heroine were BOTH strong people who refused to cave to the other person, who wouldn't compromise or give up their rights to the child. They ended up married so that the other couldn't marry anyone else and try to get custody that way. However, I did think there was a flaw to this: the alpha hero should have been a little less casual about the marriage, I couldn't believe that an alpha would let himself end up with a woman, tied for life, committing to just her bed, without putting up a protest if it wasn't what he wanted. And if it was what he wanted, then the author could have hinted that he was cleverly getting exactly what he wanted: the heroine. I loved their chemistry, I love how the hero carted her off to HIS bed, lovely dominance but he also showed consideration for the heroine's feelings when she genuinely objected.
Rating: 4/5 stars, a tad 80s-ish, but a really enjoyable hero/heroine relationship, loved them battling it out and ending up in bed.
