Another in Jennifer Blake's "Masters at Arms" series, this book is the story of Gavin Blackford, the English fencing master and member of the Brotherhood in New Orleans, and Ariadne Faucher, a widow newly arrived from Paris but whose roots go way back in Creole society.  Ariadne wants Gavin to teach her to fence so she can kill the person who killed her brother.  Reluctanly, Gavin agrees and so begins a dance of sensation as the two of them meet late at night for the lessons.

This book is hot, hot, hot and not in the literal sense.  The growing awareness of each other as the two of them thrust and parry by candlelight will keep you turning the pages.  The fact that Gavin finds out that he is the person Ariadne wants to kill and keeps it to himself as he urges her further and further, increases the suspense.  And when Gavin is wounded by Ariadne's self-appointed guardian and recuperates at the house where Ariadne is staying, he uses the opprotunity to increase the sexual tension between them.  I think that this book is my favorite of this series, maybe because it involves a woman who wants to learn to fence, a rarity in those days.  I give this book an A+ and cannot wait to read the next book in the series!Cool
