Marietta Greentree, the middle sister of the Greentree sisters and daughter of famous courtisan Aphrodite, has decided that since she can't make a suitable marriage because she is ruined, she will follow in her mother's footsteps and become a courtesan. Aphrodite insists that before Marietta does that, she must practice on a willing gentleman and Max Valland, who had just been disinherited by his father, was the perfect candidate. So Marietta gets a series of tasks that she must complete with Max before she can become a courtesan. However, Max is struck down outside of Aphrodite's and Marietta is set to nurse him. Will the lessons in becoming a courtesan turn into lessons in love?
This is a charming story of two unlikely people who find love under rather unusual circumstances. I give this book a B.
