Prairie Bride
This book was about a woman who ran away from a bad situation. She had originally married a man whose attitude changed once they were married. Not only was he abusive, but he was already married. He did not want to let her go so she had to find a way to escape.
She answered an ad for a farmer wanting a wife in the midwest. She traveled from Boston on the train and within hours of stepping off the train was married to the farmer. She, of course, neglected to tell him of her past. The farmer did find out she had had a past love and believed that she was stil in love with him. He neglected to tell her that he had married her on the rebound from being jilted from his fiance'.
The two get to know each other, have struggles throughout the story and do fall in love. But will their love survive when both of the other parties show up to claim them? Read and find out!
