Spanish Billionaire, Innocent Wife by Kate Walker (HP 2734)

Janet85
Format: Print Books

Back Cover:

Raul Esteban has always wanted Alannah.

She is purity and passion combined! But she rejected him, and now the proud Spanish aristocrat is determined that she will pay for her mistake—with her body!

Raul mistakenly believes Alannah is no longer a naive girl—until one night of passion proves he has taken her virginity! Now Raul will do whatever it takes to keep her at his mercy….

Favourite Scene: (nice "omg she's a virgin" scene)

Raul’s long body stilled, tautening sharply as he fought for control, and the dark head that had been thrown back in uncontrolled response now came forward again, golden eyes searching her face, looking for the answer to the question that clearly burned in his mind.

‘Still?’ he said and the single word encompassed a world of meaning, of disbelief, of shock. ‘Still so innocent? But how…?’

Another Fav Scene: (mmm, I love how he instantly had such a visceral rejection of her leaving his life)

Hell and damnation, no! Rejection of everything she said was like a red haze in Raul’s mind. It couldn’t stop now. Not like this. This wasn’t going to happen again. She wasn’t going to walk out on him all over again, not when he had just rediscovered that sensual satisfaction—the deepest, most perfect satisfaction—that he only ever found with her.

My Review:

Great opening, really drew me in and set up the dynamic between the hero/heroine nicely, there was a kind of wary concern for each other.  They each lost a sibling, his sister, her brother and they met at the hospital.  Then later they had to talk about the car accident and funeral arrangements.  The sense of loss and grief was intense, and they comforted each other and passion just exploded between them.  The combo of grief and passion had me sitting up right and jumping as I read the book, it was so intense and the intensity kept up all the way through the book.  I started jotting down favourite scenes but I had to stop myself from writing down all the passionate moments that stood out, because there were just so many of them, and I wanted to swim mentally in the book and not emerge to jot down every other line!  Mmmm.  This was a keeper for me, because of the passion, the shared history, and the really warm and likeable characters who were just so in love with each other.  Read it!

My Rating: 5/5 stars, a keeper, loved it, so passionate.

Mmm!  You'll love it

Mmm!  You'll love it Margie.  When do these coupon codes come out?  I signed up for it and got May's near the end of May by asking Lorie via email.  So I guess no one has June's yet?  (I haven't).   Hmm...  see my willpower didn't last until lunchtime on June 1st....   headed for the stores.

Hi Janet

I guess it is called a discount code. You email Lori so she has your email address and you have to blog your reads. At least 50% of your reads must from this publisher. The discount usually comes the first week of the month. It is 30% off on the books in the online bookstore. I love this bonus. Once you are on the list, you should receive an email with the code and a mini challenge if you want to do it. I don't think anyone has the code yet.

I just started the Cathy Williams book. I've only just started but I love the sparing between the h/H. and it is really cute. I'm only at the

Which Cathy Williams book

Which Cathy Williams book would that be?  The "Taken by Her Greek Boss" one that I recommended last month?  Or do you mean her latest June or July 2008 book?

Interested either way, I've enjoyed her books, they usually aren't angsty.

Hi Janet

It is TBHGB. I finished it last night and I really enjoyed it. I really liked Rose and Nick. I'll be blogging this weekend.

Margie... happy you enjoyed

Margie... happy you enjoyed that one!

Kate... this was an uber great book!  I don't want to embarrass ya, but since it made you smile...   To put it in perspective: I started a keeper list just barely four months ago, and I know that doesn't seem long, but I've been a rabid reader and I've read over 350 HP/SD books in that time, and I've only marked 20 of them as keepers!  This is the first Kate Walker keeper... so welcome to Janet's keeper club!   LOL
