NEWS

Dear Friends and Readers,

I finished it!  Yay.  I finished the first draft of my next Medical Romance a whole month early.  Now I’m letting it simmer for a week before I go back and begin revisions and edits.  I surprised myself by the ending, so I hope that translates to a similar reaction from the future readers.  Part of the joy of writing is following the twist and turns where the plot leads.  I start out with a vision for a story, write a two page synopsis, discuss it with my editor, then start the scary part – writing the book!  That always takes a leap of faith, and I still marvel at the process that can only be explained by the presence of a power much greater than me. One page at a time that synopsis turns into a chapter, a section, a black moment, a hot sex scene or two, a few surprises, and finally a happy ending.  The book rarely ends up the way I’d meant it to when I started out, yet I’m always happy with the results. The next step on this journey (after personal edits) will be sending it off to my editor for her comments and suggestions.  This part of the revisions process can be long and intense.  And there is always the “waiting” factor every step of the way.  I’ll keep you posted.

More news - the LOVE IS THE BEST MEDICINE basket sold to the highest bidder (there were twenty-two bids) for $100.00 at the Brenda Novak Diabetes Research Auction.  Special thanks to all of the Medical Romance authors who contributed books and trinkets to make this basket extra special:  Amy Andrews, Molly Evans, Emily Forbes, Kate Hardy, Laura Iding, Marion Lennox, Fiona Lowe, Janice Lynn, Margaret McDonagh, Melanie Milbourne, Jennifer Taylor and Meredith Webber.  I’m so proud to be a part of this International group. Ladies, we done good!

Happy Father’s Day for the US readers.  Folks, if you’ve got one, hug him!

Make June a great month.  I’ll “see” you in July,
Lynne

P.S.  I'm running a contest this month at my website.  Stop by if you can.Wink
