Favourite Scene: (I love how he so simply and easily says "fine")

He caught her hair in his fist, turned her face back to his. His dark brown eyes held a mixture of pain and anger. "So it is just sex you want."
She didn't understand what he wanted her to say, didn't understand where he hoped this would go. He knew her world. He knew her commitments. He knew what she had to do. "Yes."
The corner of his mouth curved. "Fine."

My Review:

I like that the hero is protective and possessive, it is intense.  The sexual chemistry was great.  The heroine was being stalked and the hero protects her fiercely, it's his job at first, but quickly he gets her pregnant and now he needs to protect his woman and his child.  In the past, the hero failed to save his pregnant first wife and it scarred him.  The heroine was abused by her husband and has bagage and in-laws to deal with.

I felt that the hero behaved a little inconsistently, at times he was so reserved and capable of such CONTROL and restraint, but then at other times he leapt into bed with the woman he was supposed to be protecting (so I don't think that was in character).  The heroine's in-laws had the hero falsely imprisoned at the end, and I squirmed a little bit at the trumped up charges that landed the hero in prison, and the dramatic quick fix that got him free seemed a bit lame.

My Rating: 2.5/5 stars, a pretty passionate and well-told story, not my personal cup of tea, with a few plot points that didn't sit right with me for some reason or another.
