Behind Closed Doors

This was an interesting book to read.  The subject matter was ... not something I generally read.  The story concerned a mixed race couple targetted by a couple of rogue white supremacy group members.  The couple is forced to endure something that no couple should ever have to endure.  And then deal with the fall out from it as both try, in their own separate ways, to make sense of what has happened.  Deal with the sense of inadequacy and horror.  Try to reconnect as a couple.  Not who they were before, but who they are becoming as they deal with the myriad emotions each is faced with.

 I wonder if In Plain Sight is the first book?  I haven't read that one and if it is connected to this one, then I would like to.
