Daisy Parker lost her virginity to her former stepbrother Nick Coltrane (their parents were married less than a year when she Daisy was 16 and Nick had just graduated from college) at Nick's sister's wedding reception when she was 19. He said he loved her but then walked out on her not an hour later. Which is why when Nick turns up her office 9 years later looking to hire her as a security specialist, she's less than thrilled. But she needs the money for her fledgling business so she accepts the job and moves onto Nick's couch. Nick is now a photographer and accidentally photographed a prominent individual hoping for a key ambassadorial position having sex with a much younger woman who is not his wife. Now, while Nick is normally quite discrete, destroying any sort of scandalous photos and negatives, this guy goes off the handle and sends some goons after Nick who dislocate his shoulder...making him think maybe he should sell the photos to the tabloids to get some payback...

I'm not sure how I feel about this book – it's enjoyable enough but neither Nick nor Daisy feels special to me, and I love this sort of all in the family plot so... There's also a secondary romance where we see Nick's sister Mo (short for Maureen) and her husband Reid work on their trust and relationship issues, which was good but a bit underdone. Plus it just doesn't make sense that the bad guy would even know pictures exist... I guess the fact that I'm thinking about all these little details means it didn't work for me as well as I would've liked. Too bad.
