Format: Print Books

Back Cover:

Marcus Kouvaris comes back into Eloise Smith's life to collect the debt owed him when her mother fleeced money from his now-deceased uncle. Under the crazy notion that Eloise is sleeping with men in order to get their financial backing, Marcus is going to teach her a lesson and proposes that Eloise be his mistress for a year to pay off the debt. For reasons of her own, Eloise desperately wants to avoid the court system and the media and quickly agrees, but she finds that she has never gotten over loving Marcus.

Favourite Scene:  (aww)

'You are too soft-hearted for your own good,' he groaned against her throat and, lifting his head, his black eyes lingered on her slightly parted lips. 'You need someone to take care of you,' and he brushed his mouth over hers in the lightest of kisses. 'Let it be me, and I swear no one will ever hurt you again.'

My Review:

I really really liked this story.  It has so many good things that combined make it a very passionate read.  We've got a virgin heroine, her hang ups from a past attack (well-written), a history between the hero/heroine, revenge, forced mistress, and best of all the hero truly is motivated by love for the heroine and it's so strong.  I love when a revenge story is tempered by strong love, it makes everything ok when the motivation was love and the hero apologizes profusely and commits himself to loving the heroine for life.  I liked that the hero thought bad things about the heroine BUT knew instinctively after a while without being told that the heroine was innocent.  Of course eventually he was told some things he hadn't known by the heroine's friend, but on a basic level he knew his heroine's character and trusted her earlier on.

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars, a really passionate story that I enjoyed.
