I love Jane's very simplistic, minimalist style of writing. She gives you enough detail to know what something looks like, but she isn't real wordy. I was able to read this book in two days sitting by the pool (as we are having a heat wave in NJ!)
Sitting by the pool seemed the perfect spot to read this novel. And to realize that I am a Taylor Young. I don't really want to be, but face it I must. I'm a stay-at-home mom, I volunteer for everything at school and church, everyone knows me, I use only Le Crueset cookware and live in -maybe not Bellevue, Washington, but at area very commutable to the Manhattan, so....
Just like with Odd Mom Out I wanted to love this book, but it left me confused and thinking about things and questioning myself and my life. Which I guess there is some positive in that, but also some angst that I really didn't need. I don't know. Jane is definitely a feminist with very strong opinions, some I agree with, some I am not comfortable with, some I don't agree with...and she has a way of turning her novels into something very political that I am not sure I really like.
