Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward (Book 4)
Favourite Scene:
Her breasts were perfect, the very best money could buy.
Another Fav Scene: (I love how Butch teases V)
Despising himself, Vishous hammered a shot of vodka and quickly poured another. “My sex life is private, Butch. So are my… unconventional interests.”
“I hear ya. No one’s biz but yours. One question, though.”
“What.”
“When the females tie you down, do they paint your toenails and shit? Or just do your makeup?” As V laughed in a loud crack, the cop said, “Wait… they tickle your pits with a feather, right?”
“Smart-ass.”
Yet Another Fav Scene: (I love how V is fascinated by Butch/Marissa and thinks they are a mystery)
The reason he’d stared at her was because she fascinated him, not attracted him. He wanted to know what it was about her that made Butch lay with her with such warmth and love. Was it something in her skin? Her bones? Her beauty? How did she do it?
How did she take Butch to a place were sex was communion?
My Review:
I love the expression "hauling ass" and the way JR describes the pumping legs as they haul ass! Yum. Oooh I love how Butch is involved in a prophecy! Intense! I love Butch and Vishous's connection, they are two halves. I kind of was waiting for them to kiss or have sex, they have something intense between them. I almost felt like Butch and Vishous were more like "destined mates" than Butch and Marissa, Marissa's connection to Butch appeared weaker because the prophecy bounded Butch to Vishous instead of her. I would have liked to see a part of the prophect mention the importance of Butch's woman to the mission. I liked the Epilogue, it was a fitting end, I'm glad the Butch's mother had that confession moment and got to see Butch settled happily with his wife before she died.
My Rating: 3.5/5 stars, This was a complicated one, I wanted to give it the highest rating of Books 1-5. I loved some aspects of this book more than I've loved the other ones. I adored Butch's involvement in this intense Prophecy! I adored the B/V connection and teasing. But if I'm judging this book as a romance novel, based on the relationship between the H/h, then I didn't feel like Butch/Marissa were the focus of this book.
