Description & Critique:

Rachel had loved Matt since her youth and now she was his son’s nanny.  Every second in his presence was torture because she still wanted him as much as she had in her youth.  The years away hadn’t lessened her feelings at all.  Matt was tortured by her.  She had been his one weakness when they were younger…  He had taken her innocence and he would never make that mistake again.  Yet, she was driving him crazy.  Matt tried to focus on his goal, that of taking over Blackstone Diamonds.  Yet, he kept slipping with her…  Would Rachel turn Matt’s rejections around?  Would he take over Blackstones?

This is final book of the Diamonds Down Under mini-series and what a wrap up it was.

Although at times it was hard to like Matt Hammond because he was so bitter.  It was impossible not to like him, not to understand his demons.  We got to see that Matt was a loyal, honourable man.

Rachel was an impressive leading lady, too.  She was determined, full of spirit and gutts.   She gave it to Matt plain and simple when he wasn’t spending enough time with his son.  She always gave him the truth even when she knew he would be upset or he would reject her.  She was very brave.  She made attempts to seduce him because she wanted him.  No waiting for this woman.  So, yes, I found her to be everything that a leading lady should be.

Being the last book in the mini-series, all the loose ends needed to be tied up and they were magnificently.  I like the resolution to the mini-series:  Blackstone’s and Hammond’s, Blake’s paternity, Howard and Marise’s link.

I highly recommend this book.  I loved every one of the 6 books in this mini-series.  If you want a good read, then this is it.

great wrap up

I thought Yvonne did a great wrap up

Hey Kel!

Glad you enjoyed the series!  I thought the ladies did such a fantastic job.  Hopefully we will see more from them in the future, in a series like this.

Take Care,

Tammy

6 books is a good number...

Although I will admit to being sorry to see the end of the Blackstones and the Hammonds, I also probably wouldn't want to see it stretched to 12 months.  Somewhere between 6 and 9 months is ideal.  This bunch of characters were great.  And I would have liked to see more about Quinn and Danielle...  I loved that book!

For me, the handsomest was definitely Ric Perrini and the sexiest goes to Quin Everard for that gorgeous chest...  Matt Hammond gets the biggest character growth... He really came around...

6 vs12

I noticed in the last two years they haven't done the 12 month dynasties  but a six month continuity and now that DDU has been wrapped up, the next six month continity looks to be Park Avenue Scandals. From a reading standpoint I like them because we don't have to wait as long for some of the mysteries to play out also the characters seem fresher in the mind. From a collecting standpoint it's great because we only have to track down six books not 12

Series 6 - 12

What do you all think of series being offered as part of current lines, like Thouroughbred Legacy in SSE?

Thouroughbred Legacy

I think if the books are noticably numbered so you know which comes first it's a great idea to offer 4 a month. But there is always the case about whether or not you will like the series and buy all four. Because if you order one to see how you like the series how do we know we are getting the first one. At least when Michelle Celmer had her two Royal Seductions books come out in the same month they still were #.
