Piercing the Darkness
If you believe that angels are literally in the hen house and demons are lurking behind every sagging fence, this book is for you. The book is entertaining as the battle in the heavens reaches fever pitch, but it also has a sobering message about legal maneuvering that can take place on the earth.
Sally Roe, a murderess who killed her baby while under the demonic control, so she told the court, is now out of prison and working a menial job at a door factory. So, why was an assassin wearing a ring with a demonic symbolism sent to kill her? Sally has to find out if it's related to the day she was publically accosted by a young girl who seemed to be demon possessed.
The local Christian school is embattled as liberal legal forces send their big city lawyers to this small farming town to try to set a precident that will enable the state to intrude upon and limit the expression of religious belief.
The best parts of the story were the human struggles, especially as heroine Sally Roe makes the journey from demon possessed New Age light weight to a strong belief in Jesus Christ. The reader is totally blown away by the revelation at the end of who the father of Sally Roe's dead baby was.
