Snow Queen by Mercedes Lackey (Luna)

Format: Print Books
Series: LUNA

This is the next installment in the 500 Kingdoms series.  In this book, we get Alsakia, the snow queen.  She is actually the Fairy Godmother for the Northern reaches.  When word reaches her that another is impersonating her, she has to try and figure out what is going on.  At the same time, a mother and a man’s fiancée are also looking for the imposter to save their son/fiancée.  I found this book incredibly entertaining, but definitely more fantasy than romance.  My favorite is still likely the first book in the series – Fairy Godmother, but this is a good addition. Totals – 94- 66 Harlequin, 20 Non-Harlequin, 8 audio, 3 re-read TBR Challenge – 15 out of 86 TBR2 Challenge – Books Acquired – 49 books, 53 books read, 33 library books (86 total print) NFM

TBR--The Born Readers

I haven't read this yet but

I haven't read this yet but it is in my TBR pile.  It took me awhile to understand the tongue in cheek stand that the author was taking in the first story but once I realized what was happening I really enjoyed the book and will continue to read the stories but 500 kingdoms and stories.  It could take awhile.

FF - It is due to

FF - It is due to hardcovers that I got to love my library.  Definately, a good read.

Joan - Yes, she is very tongue in cheek.  I have enjoyed all of the series - although the Dragon book likely the least.

I saw this online, I was

I saw this online, I was going to pick it up... maybe I should. Sounds like a good series.

If you were a big fairy

If you were a big fairy tail lover, I think you would enjoy the series.  I loved fairy tales, had a big book of Grimm's as a child.

WEll, I could go to my library, but though they would probably have many hardcovers, they wouldn't have Misty's book or even the French version of Misty's book.  *sigh*

Sorry FF, I guess the

Sorry FF, I guess the library system in France doesn't do much for an American ex-pat.  It was odd, I had stopped using libraries, and then a lot of my romance authors started going into hardcover, so I jumped back into the library thing.  Now I get a lot of my books there - almost half, not so good for their pocket book, but great for mine.

Yikes, I didn't realize

Yikes, I didn't realize there were more books being written to follow The Fairy Godmothers second book, One Good Knight.  I'll have to add the last two books to my wishlist so i don't forget.

Kathy - I looked on my list

Kathy - I looked on my list and have five in the list - The Fairy Godmother, the Fool, A Good Knight, Fortune's Fool and the Snow Queen.  Enjoyed all of them.

Are the Fool and Fortune's

Are the Fool and Fortune's Fool the same book?

Strangely, I have two books

Strangely, I have two books listed, but when I look at the library, it only has Fortune's Fool, I wonder if the other was a short story and I listed it there.  Hmm, looked at her website, but that hasn't been updated in years.  Now, I am not sure.

I wish her new book wasn't a

I wish her new book wasn't a Hardcover.  I would have bought it in a paperback.  I wonder if it will come out in paper.

Cady, I just came from

Cady, I just came from amazon, and they show there being 4 books out so far. Fairy Godmother(book#1), One Good Knight(book#2), Fortunes Fool(book#3), & Snow Queen(book#4).

That's better for me anyways, then i don't have quite so many to buy to catch up. Laughing

Paisley, I hope it comes

Paisley, I hope it comes out in paperback because I won't buy a hardcover.  They don't fit on my book shelves.

Joan

Well, the others have come

Well, the others have come out in MMPB eventually.  SO I'm guessing this one will too… eventually.  Unless HQLUNA changes their marketing strategy.Undecided

Okay, I looked and the Fool

Okay, I looked and the Fool was in an anthology - not sure what the name was - likely Charmed Destinies.  I am with the others in thinking that it will come out in MMPB, but probably not until next year.
