Sarah Harper fell in love with Rome Matthews on first meeting him.  Before she could make her feelings known he meets her best friend and before Sarah can say "boo" she is Maid of Honor at their wedding.  Through the years Sarah continues to work for Rome, hiding her feelings from the world.

When tragedy strikes and Rome's wife and two young sons are killed in a car accident Sarah is there, also grieving. 

Eventually, Rome has to sort out the stuff at the house.  He wants to get rid of everything, but Sarah salvages the photo albums.

Sarah and Rome console each other and marry.  Rome wants Sarah, but he doesn't want love and he doesn't want children.  Sarah becomes pregnant and refuses to get rid of her child.  Rome says, "fine, but I don't want to see it, hear it, have anything to do with it."

Whenever I read this one I need a whole box of tissues. 

This is a classic that you don't want to miss.
