I just got an anthology of Christmas Medieval historicals in the mail. I hought...this is nuts, it's 100 degrees out but you know, after seeing your blog, I feel better. The heat here is oppressive so maybe that's exactly what I should read. When I was a young girl and it was really cold in Mass. at school and snow everywhere I used to walk back from the commons eating building to my dorm with friends and we would try to convince ourselves hoe hot is was and how all the snow was sand. It was cold then but I have to say, mostly I have the opposite of that seasonal thing---it is the heat that dampens my energy and enthusiasm.

The heat can be draining.
When I lived in Phoenix I'd come home from work in my NOT-air conditioned car, turn the A/C in my apt. way down, Shut the drapes and turn out the lights, then roll out my sleeping bag on the living room floor and play an album (remember those?) of thunder storm and rain with music. Why the sleeping bag? The smell and feel of it reminded me of the cool mountains.
