Homeward bound (I wish I was)

Hi all - less than 24 hours left before we start for home, I'm really looking forward to getting back to a cool empty house

I'll be going straight back to work on Monday though, so I still won't have time to blog anything until Wednesday (sorry!)

Didn't get as much reading done as I'd hoped but I'll make up the books lost at home, I had a slight advance and any way family is more important at the moment

This holiday got me to thinking about love (and the things we do because of it!) - I've always seen love as a magic well, "fed" by all the little gestures, kisses, good vibes etc that our loved ones send us, but "emptied" by the negative stuff we have to put up with.

This week I've definitely felt it emptying, but the support in here has helped it not run dry

So thanks!

More when I get home!

Happy Trails!!

Hi Sadhbh Smile  I hope you have/had a good trip home. Family is always important but it sounds like you may have had a challenging time with them this time. I am glad your well didn't dry up completely. We always look forward to hearing your ideas and comments. Take Care of yourself.  Smile

Oh dear ....

negative stuff ..... ouch ..... not what you want when you vacation ..... vacation is supposed to be all the fun positive loving stuff that fill that well to overflowing ..... sorry it hasn't quite turned out that way for you  .... sigh

I do hope "home" will bring those loving positives back and the well fills again

(((hugs)))

Vacation - Detox time

Sorry that it didn't turn out as you wished for.

Sometimes we use vacation as a 'detox' time, so we let down our guards, plus the daily routine is different, so adjustments need to be made, but we are hoping to relax, to recharge; yet when that's not happening & on top of it, more work, we could get frustrated, the 'negative' stuff will surface out of nowhere.

To me, a family gathering is not a vacation.  More 'work' is involved, all these different personalities to tip-toe around Sealed, trying to accomodate all is very very exhausting, but we do it because this is a 'vacation' & we are supposed to have a good time, right(?!).  Need a 'real' vacation after that.

Anyway, after getting back to the regular daily routine, & think back, you might find some amusements or 'no big deal', things will look brighter.   Maybe you just miss your reading. Wink

Sadhbh, I've always found that, regardless of how well

or not the holidays went, getting home is Always, Always a relief... a true coming home.

That old saying...

"There is no place like home" is so true.  Vacations are fun or at least partly fun but they can also be work!  Spending time with family is always good but not always a vacation. Smile  I know the feeling but was still glad I got to spend time with family and I was blessed with the people that were/are my family.

You are home now and hopefully recovering from the trip despite working.  It seems after a vacation we sometimes need another one!!  As I grew older I learned to build in a couple of days at home before going back to work.  I also learned, the hard way, to never go back on a Monday!! Laughing

I'm looking forward to your reviews on books & any blog about the vacation. Cool

May your well be filling up.

Take care, happy reading,

Hi all - thanks for your encouragement and help

Life is more complicated than I expected, and my summer schedule doesn't leave me as much me time, but I'm hopeful of finding time to blog tomorrow

My reading has gone way down, but I'm not worrying about it, as worrying won't help matters, the best I can do is try and refill my energy and other wells and catch up later

Hugs
