Book Eight: “Their Special-Care Baby” Fiona McArthur, Harlequin Special Editions, 2007, eBook, Adobe format (First North American Publication, 2008)
"This book is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Catherine, whose beautiful smile and “Hello Darling” will always warm my heart.”
When I read the above dedication, I just knew “Their Special-Care Baby” would be a warm, wonderful reading experience. It is.
“Their Special-Care Baby” is an action filled, emotional story. If you like Betty Neels, as much as I do, you’ll be right at home with “Their Special-Care Baby”. The hero is a distinguished “Consultant” and the heroine a very competent nurse. The heroine as been mistreated wrongfully and is on her own in dire circumstances. She gets to stay in the hero’s home to help with a child and hero’s sick mother. It’s a tender romance suitable for all readers. I don’t think there is a Betty Neels fan in the world who would not love this book. (Now, if the story only took place in Holland instead of Austrilia,.,
)
If the reader wants to be a nurse or doctor or just likes medical terms and treatments, “Their Special-Care Baby” has it all. I found the medicine fascinating, and the action non-stop.
Medical Series books are a little shorter in format so the writing is very direct. There are no dull or slow moving pages to skip over. You won’t want to miss a page in this story.
This is my third Medical Series book and each has been excellent. There is only one more title left available in eBook format so I hope Harlequin will release more as Special Release eBooks. All the titles I’ve read so far have happened in Australia which makes me think all the titles will be located there. If so, I hope there will be a story set in an Outback clinic as Outback stories are among my favorites.
Be aware that this book deals with continuous life and death medical situations and emergencies. As such, Medical Series books are quite emotional. This is the third title in a row where I can say, “You’ll be feeling this book more than you will be reading it.” I’m sold. I fully expect to read every Medical Series book that comes out in eBook format.
Excellent
Thanks,
Vince

Thanks Vince
I really appreciate this review,Vince,I read my first Betty Neels' books in last year's challenge, and truly enjoyed them..If this book is along her style of writing I am anxious to read it.
Having been in the medical field in years past I will always enjoy a well-written medical story. So far all I have read in the Medical Romance line have filled this qualification.
I just bought this book and another just yesterday so it will be on my read very soon list.
Than you once again,Vince. Cheryl

Best of Both: Betty Neels and Medical Details
Hi Aunt Cheryl:
Betty Neels was a nurse and she married a surgeon but actual medical conditions and treatments do not play a big part in her stories. In this book, you have the best of Betty Neels story elements plus very up to day medical details. It’s like the best of both in one book. I’m going to buy every medical romance that comes out in either larger type or as an eBook. I just wish there were more of them.
I really want to hear how you compare this book with Betty Neels.
Thanks,
Vince
