Laurel Ann Lawless works for her boyrfriend when the company closes because of a money-laundering investigation and Laurel goes to North Carolina to see about an inheritance (one quarter of a swamp) She gets a job there and rents a cabin from Cody, a reclusive writer and spends a lot of time with his daughter Becky while waiting to go back to her real life, but then she and Cody fall in love and she has to decide whether to go back to her old life, if she has a job to go back to.
Slow start, I found it tough going, but by the end I'd enjoyed it
