114. Lara Adrian ~ Midnight Awakening ~ Dell Books (Dec 2007)

This is the third book in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series and I am still so enjoying it.  The Breeds are very much warriors, but when they meet up with their Breedmate, lives change.
Tegan has been suffering for centuries; his wife was abducted and returned as a minion and he's never forgiven himself for not protecting her.  For him, it's much easier to live with hating himself than to risk anyone else, or to risk letting anyone close to him ~ he's become the ultimate loner.
But after meeting Elise Chase, he's not been able to forget her.  Elise herself is suffering:  Five years ago her husband was murdered by Rogues and only months ago, her only son was also lost to them.  Emotionally she is barely surviving, her only solace?  Vengeance against those that have taken everything from her... but at what cost?
Adventure, vampire, vengeance, warriors, love, sexy romances... these books have all this and much, much more. If you haven't read one of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed books, do yourself a favour and check them out.

FROM THE BACK:
HE HAS RESISTED TEMPTATION FOR CENTUREIS, A STONE-COLD WARRIOR WHOSE FROZEN HEART REFUSES TO THAW ~ UNTIL HER . . . .
With a dagger in her hand and vengeance on her mind, Darkhaven beauty Elise Chase prowls Boston's streets in search of retribution against the Rogue vampires who took from her everything she cherished.  Using an extraordinary psychic gift, she tracks her prey, well aware that the power she possesses is destroying her.  She must learn to harness this gift, and for that she can turn to only one man ~ the deadliest of the Breed warriors, Tegan.
No stranger to loss, Tegan knows Elise's pain.  He knows fury, but when he slays his enemies it is with ice in his veins.  He is perfect in his self-control, until Elise seeks his aid in her personal war.  An unholy alliance is forged ~ a bond that will link them by blood and vow ~ and plunge them into a tempest of danger, desire, and the darkest passions of the heart....

Wait til you get Midnight Rising... Rio's story.... I love this author and these books.

Jeannie

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

I love this series too, this

I love this series too, this series is what turned me onto paranormal romance.  I haven't had a chance to read Rio's story yet but I heard it was really good.  I really liked Tegan's story, I was glad there was somone to through the wall he put around his heart.

I just finished

I just finished the Poison Study series so this is my next series to start. I've been wanting to read these since last year. So I'll be starting the first one soon. I've heard so many great things about them. So it's about time I finally got to them. So many great books waiting.

What a treat you have in store for you...

...Deb!  I'm surprised that you haven't already read the first couple of books... I must say that I'm almost envious!  Of course I still have the fourth book to read as well... soon, very, very soon.

Jeannie, the excerpt for Rio's story was too tempting... and he so badly needs something good to happen to him.
Now I'm wondering who'll be next after Rio?  Chase?  Nikolas?  I'll be impatient regardless.

Tiffany, I really liked Tegan's story too... and Elise was perfect for him ~ and he for her.  Lara Adrian is definitely on my autobuy list.
