#131 Bride of the Emerald Isle by Trish Wylie (HR #3964)

This was a very enjoyable book, although I had trouble identifying with Keelin, maybe because she was searching for her identity throughout the book. I didn't like the cover and it took me a while to realise why it was giving me an "Americanised idea of Ireland" impression – the white fence instead of the stone wall will do it every time. I've never been to Valentia Island, but I associate white fences with Meath and Kildare (eastern side) and stone walls with the West. I loved Garrett and Terri and the way G came around to a better understanding of his daughter. I also loved the "natural" misunderstandings and communication problems, which didn't feel exaggerated, underplayed or prolonged just for effect.

Hi Sadhbh:        I

Hi Sadhbh:

I reviewed this last August and think it is one of the author's best books. I'd like to see more contemporary books set in Ireland.

                Thanks,

RE: BRIDE OF THE EMERALD ISLE by Trish Wylie

Congrats on reading this book, Sadhbh!  Tales (stories/novels) from me birthland I find always a thrill to read.  This IS on my TBR list, but apparently, you got to it before I did!

Hi Vince, Hi Marty

I do tend to get to a lot of books before some other people, it
might have something to do with the fact that this was book #132 Innocent

but more to do with the fact that it actually got here, and wasn't still in my Texas TBR Laughing

Hugs

Nuh-uh! No! You really need to read some books, reorganizing bookshelves is a waste of good reading time Kiss Innocent

Reorganizing

I'm with you, Sadhbh!  I hate reorganizing my shelves as it seems like such a waste of time when I could be READING those books!
