I was at one of the annual book sales this past weekend ~ I actually had to be talked into it... I was trying to be good and not add any more books to my bulging TBR shelves, tottering piles, etc. But my dh told me I should at least check it out. Well, 70 books (or so) later, I had checked it out quite thoroughly ~ and had loads of fun too. Hey, it's always fun spending time looking at books... especially when the price is right!
Anyway, I found a lot of harlequin and other category romances, many unread and brand-new, and among the treasures ~ half a dozen were books that I've been long looking for... YAHOO! ~ was this Duets book with a story by Diane Pershing. This author hit my favourite and autobuy list after one story during last year's challenge, so finding another of her works was quite exciting. It's not a suspense like her more recent books, but humourous instead ~ and every bit as entertaining as anything of hers that I've read.
Yes, there's a lot of humour in this story, but there is also an emotional journey. Two seemingly disparate people, both with full, active lives and who both discover, upon meeting each other, that there was a gaping hole in their lives. Wonderful, tender and heartwarming romance ~ another excellent story by a terrific author. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Stop the presses!
When face with a naked woman in bed, hotshot reporter Sam Kovacks usually knew exactly what to do. This time, however, was a little different. After all, he and Rachel Murray had just met ~ and they'd be working together for the next year. Hmm, maybe this new job would be exciting after all....
MY NOTES:
Sam knew that relationships and committment weren't for him ~ he was an international, front-line journalist, more wanderer than anything, so he's never expected to want a home and family.
Rachel is a homebody; orphaned with a baby sister at a young age, she became the go-to person for anyone and everyone in her life. All her plans dreams were put on hold while she looked after everyone else. Of course, there was always someone else to look after, so her hopes for a family of her own weren't any closer to happening than they'd ever been.
A wonderful journey of discovery for two people who had far more in common than either realized. I loved it!
